Kentucky Weather in October

In an effort to get out of the house on a beautiful clear fall day, we drove north through Fleming County and saw 2 covered bridges. We then drove over to Big Bone Lick State Park, the site of the last battle of the Revolutionary War. We then journeyed down Hwy 68 and stopped and bought a huge pottery strawberry pot. Daughter and I are growing succulents to make wreaths and the little pockets in a strawberry pot make good sprouting spots. After that, we continued on to Paris, KY for lunch. We backed up and took 460 over to Mt Sterling then 213 over to Stanton. It was too late to go looking for Pilot Knob, where Boone looked over the Bluegrass, so we drove up Hwy 15 and turned onto 715 and cruised through the Red River Gorge. Man, there were tons of people camping on every little flat spot. Back to Pine Ridge onto the Mt. Parkway and on back to good ol' West Liberty. The dogs were exhausted as we were. Now to plan for the next excursion.
